All Wyatt bikes are shipped factory tuned and 90% assembled in the box. The front wheel, seat, handlebars, and pedals need to be installed on the bike. Although an instruction manual is provided, it is highly recommended that you have a professional mechanic assemble your bike.
How is the bike shipped?
Where are the bikes made?
All Wyatt bikes are designed, finished, and assembled in La Crosse, WI. Our frames are welded in China based on our design and then the raw frames are shipped to us for quality inspection. After the frames have been inspected for quality, they are ready for finishing. Finishing includes powder coating and decaling. The finishing process begins as soon as a customer places an order. When the finishing process is complete, the bike is fully assembled, tuned, and shipped to it’s proud new owner.
It’s important to note that the majority of bike companies have the whole build process completed in China or Taiwan. This includes welding, painting, and mass assembly. Our process is unique, because our bike frames are only welded in China and then the rest of the build process is completed at our headquarters in La Crosse, WI. Every Wyatt bike is assembled to order, ensuring a high quality build.
What is powder coating?
Powder coating is an advanced finishing process that is an eco-friendly alternative to liquid paint. The majority of bicycle manufacturers today use liquid paint. Liquid paint finishes contain solvents that have pollutants known as volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), while powder coating contains no solvents and release minimal amounts, if any, VOC’s into the atmosphere. The powder used in the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is electrostatically sprayed onto the frame of our bicycles. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded frame until the powder is heated and fused into a smooth coating in the curing oven. Powder coating is more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing when exposed to snow, rain, and the hot sun.
